This week crews successfully poured 2,500 cy of concrete at our #OwlsHead Project in Brooklyn, setting the stage for construction of the new Salt Shed and Compost Facility #Picone is constructing for the NYC Department of Sanitation. This milestone follows completion of all demolition and grading of the existing DSNY Salt Shed and Compost Facility, for which a temporary salt shed was erected. The project is a significant step forward in clearing the way for construction of the future CSO facility, part of the overall U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Gowanus Canal clean-up initiative.
