?? Delivering the Energy Transition in Europe ?? EU DSO Entity has published a set of case studies on how the grid is key to delivering the energy transition - including how Piclo has supported E-REDES to deliver Portugal's first local market for flexibility services. Launched in March 2023, the FIRMe project allows E-REDES as the Distribution System Operator (DSO) to manage network planning efficiently, maximizing existing infrastructure while integrating more renewable energy. How it Works: Flexibility Services: E-REDES contracts with aggregators and asset owners to manage energy consumption and production. Three Service Types: ?? Restore: Supports network recovery post-failure. ?? Dynamic: Responds to scheduled maintenance needs. ?? Secure: Manages consumption peaks under normal conditions. By partnering with Piclo, E-REDES is able to access the flexibility market and enhances its procurement service quality whilst reducing costs, paving the way for a more resilient energy system.
