Mario Lopez joined PIC in August 2023, fulfilling a dream he’s had since his university days. His interest for working with pigs peaked during his studies, and since then he’s gained production experience in the nursery, finishing and now, breeding. Mario’s enthusiasm for his role is contagious. His passion for his job drives him to ensure the sows get the best care and are in the best condition, leading to better productivity and impacting results across all areas of the farm. He’s proud to work at the forefront of innovation in the industry and has enjoyed the chance to work directly with some of the first PRRS-Resistant pigs. Karla Elliot’s 20+ year journey with PIC has been nothing short of remarkable. Karla started her career with PIC in 2001, working in many areas of production, eventually leading to her current position as Production Manager at our Borealis Gene Transfer Center. At Borealis, Karla oversees a multifaceted operation, managing production, the lab, and documentation. “What still amazes me is the global impact of our genetics.
