We are grateful to support the Fiji Cancer Society with the funds raised during our Pinktober Pink Bucket campaign. Cancer Society Project Facilitator Alumita Bera's acknowledgment of PIANGO's generosity highlights the positive impact on the community. This initiative underscores PIANGO’s unwavering commitment to raising awareness about cancer and supporting those affected by this disease. PIANGO’s Pinktober Pink Bucket campaign has become an annual tradition and this year, we were grateful to our members from Kiribati, Vanuatu, Tonga, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Nauru, Palau, Niue, and Fiji for their contributions that demonstrated a strong sense of regional unity and a collective effort that play a vital role in raising awareness about early detection and prevention. Together, we're making a difference! #PIANGO2030 #Pinktober #CancerAwareness #PIANGOKAINGA #NLUStrong

Rethinking Development, Reshaping the Pacific we Want
关于我们
Our journey began officially at the first-ever PIANGO Council in Pago Pago, American Samoa on August 1991. The move to establish PIANGO however came out of conversations in the late 70s that highlighted the need to strengthen regional networking of NGOs across the Pacific. During the 80s the conversations carried on and culminated in the drafting of a constitution. PIANGO is now a regional secretariat to a network of umbrella organisations, a platform that is registered in 25 countries, territories, and states across the Pacific region. We continue to serve the Pacific through strengthening and building the capacity of NGOs and the civil society sector through giving the sector a voice in policy formulation and strengthening its member umbrella organisations. As a regional network of NGO coordinating bodies known as National Liaison Units (NLUs) based in 25 Pacific Island countries and territories. PIANGO was formally established in 1991 to assist NGOs in the Pacific to initiate action, give voice to their concerns and work collaboratively with other development actors for just and sustainable human development. Our 2020 –2030 Strategic Plan sets out a dynamic vigorous robust direction of development for Civil Society Sector grounded on understanding the Pacific context. This plan envisages that PIANGO will facilitate the building of Pacific Expert, Pacific ideas to find Pacific Solutions for Pacific Issues within Pacific Context for Civil Society exercising leadership for a just and peaceful Pacific community.

Our latest piece featured on Devex - written alongside Pacific Islands Association of Non Govenmental Organisation (PIANGO). Executive Director Siale Ilolahia. By challenging traditional power structures and championing community-led initiatives, together we are championing localisation as key to sustainable, meaningful development.
This partnership between civil society and a United Nations program is pushing for localization. Munkhtuya (Tuya) Altangerel of UNDP Pacific Office in Fiji & Siale Ilolahia of PIANGO outline how in this opinion. #opinion #localization #partnership

Pacific Civil Society leaders are using this week’s Regional CSO Forum to articulate perspectives on the regional collective actions of the 2050 Strategy Implementation Plan and CSO position in the Regional Architecture which will be reviewed in the upcoming leaders meeting. In partnership with the Pacific Regional Non-Governmental Organisations (PRNGO) Plus Alliance, close to 40 civil society representatives convened yesterday at the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat to build consensus around common policy issues for engagement and advocacy with Pacific Islands Forum Leaders, Ministers, Officials and in other regional platforms as necessary. CSOs have been part of the 2050 Strategy and 2050IP development processes and continue to be nurtured in the current development of the 2050 MEL Guide, and the Review of Regional Architecture (RRA. Pacific Islands Forum Leaders have adopted the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent (2050 Strategy), and its Implementation Plan (2050IP) as the overarching regional framework to achieve their shared vision and development aspirations for the Pacific region. Discussions will tailor towards Pacific Islands Forum Leader’s meeting in Tonga anchored on the theme ‘A Transformative Resilient Pasifiki: Build Better Now’ with discussions focusing on the 2050 Strategy major initiatives in the Review of Regional Architecture, Monitoring and Evaluation Learning, the thematic areas and most importantly the CSO long standing issues on #labourmobility, #deepseamining, #WestPapua and #Fukushima- Nuclear dumping in the Pacific.
