In their recent round led by Lakestar, and supported by Elaia and Optum Ventures we are excited to keep supporting their journey alongside General Catalyst, Giant Ventures, Speedinvest deepc, an orchestration platform for AI, starting with Radiology as the first vertical and?led by Dr. Franz MJ Pfister, MD, MBA, where we followed-on alongside?Sofinnova Partners with participation from new strategic investors KHP Ventures and SwissHealth Ventures who are supporting the market expansion Guardoc Health led by Hadassah Backman develops a compliance integrity platform to support understaffed and heavily overworked nursing staff with daily documentation, ensure compliance with regulations and improve the audit and billing process in care homes. We seeded the company together with our friends Pitango and the?US investor Springbank?among others Pi Health led by Geoffrey Kim and Bobby Reddy, MD has built an unique end-to-end software stack for clinical trials. Pi Health was recently spun out of BeiGene, and we invested in their series A together with AlleyCorp and Obvious Ventures? ? People have been asking me - what is Pi Health? Our vision is simple: we are reducing the cost and complexity of clinical research and expanding patient access to trials - in Australia, Brazil, India, US and more countries to come!?We built a new software platform called FICS (pun intended!) that contains everything a site or a health system needs (clinical research-optimized EMR/plug-in, ISF, CTMS, gen AI, scheduling, tracking, feasibility, etc) and everything on the sponsor side (EDC, CDMS, CTMS,?IRT, TMF, RBQM). Pi Health is excited to welcome Dr. Alex Morozov as our Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Morozov brings extensive experience in drug development, having overseen hundreds of oncology clinical trials at several major pharmaceutical companies and helping develop new cancer therapies including Bavencio, Lorbrena, Cyramza, Jakavi, Opdivo/Yervoy and Cabometyx. He also pioneered multiple digital health initiatives, including building and leading the first Digital Health team at Bristol Myers Squibb. With an MD-PhD from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and subsequent medical training at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Dr. Morozov combines scientific expertise with clinical insights. Pi Health’s mission is to bring clinical trials to everyone. Trials are pivotal in medical advances and improved patient outcomes, yet only 2% to 8% of eligible cancer patients participate in them. And 80% of clinical trials are delayed or closed due to enrollment issues. Using their AI-assisted software platform to reduce friction and costs while increasing patient enrollment, Pi Heath is working to improve access to clinical trials in the U.S., India, Australia, and Brazil.
