??Housing Solutions & Community Collaboration A big thank you to the Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce for hosting an important discussion on housing last Tuesday, January 28! During January's Connecting Women in Business (CWIB) luncheon, panelists Emily Boehm (Northwest Michigan Habitat for Humanity), Heidi Shearer (Pine Pond Homes), and our own Sarah Ford (Petoskey-Harbor Springs Area Community Foundation) shared updates on three significant housing developments in our area. Housing in our region has become increasingly out of reach for many, with rising costs and limited availability affecting families, workers, and seniors alike. In 2023, Housing North conducted a Housing Needs Assessment for our 10-county region, finding that Emmet County needed 865 rentals to meet demand. While multiple housing projects are underway and making meaningful progress, ongoing community engagement and support remain essential. ?? Housing Initiatives Happening Now: ??
