What are the things you love to do outside of work? One of my favorite things is volunteering with family and friends! This weekend, my family’s nonprofit The People Helping People Network had its annual Servant’s Heart Gala. I had the privilege to co-chair the event with my dad, Jeff Cardwell . We honored former US Ambassador to El Salvador, Ronald Johnson, Matthew Gillette, and Laura Hatton for their amazing dedication and work for the organization. We reached over $100,000 and are still getting donations in to fund our programs across Housing, Hunger Relief, Healthcare and Education. In the last 20 years, we have built over 1000 homes, donated millions of pounds of food, performed early cancer screenings for nearly 10,000 women, have nearly a 100% placement rating on our newly opened culinary school, and provided aid to states and countries around the world after natural disasters. It’s all about connecting nonprofits, community organizations, businesses and people to create sustainable change that provides hope. Here’s some pictures from this year’s event.
