Wait a second, please! Before we all get started with 2025, I wanted to say a particular thank you to the end of 2024. Why only the end??Well, at the end of 1994 (yes, 30 years ago), I stepped away from image processing into the fantastic world of solid-state lasers. So, I want to thank the laser industry for some of the most amazing memories and the life it has given me. I have travelled to 30+ countries and met some incredible people. If you are not mentioned, it's not because you are not remembered; it's because there are too many of you to list. If you see this and know me, please know that you, too, are part of this. Thank you… Paul Sarkies – for giving me that first job! Also Reinhardt Thyzel Particular mentions go to Andy Emmess, James McDowell, Kevin White, and Allan Tomaselli at Spectron Lasers.
