Having been in mortgage tech for 25 years, I've always had a soft spot for servicing. It was my first love. My first job out of college at what was then then PwC was providing litigation support to the Department of Justice in their pursuit of a spectacularly defaulted Ginnie Mae master subservicer from the late 80s. I did that for three years and boy, did I learn a lot. Among other things, that was where I all but perfected my photocopying and Excel skills. I also gained deep expertise in both Bates numbers and 11710As. Good times. In conjunction with the research I've been doing on the history of AI in mortgage, I put together this servicing technology landscape infographic.
