ZooLights are for everyone ?? On December 2, we are hosting a Sensory Friendly night of ZooLights at the Phoenix Zoo. The night includes reduced crowds, quieter music, photo opportunities with Santa and all the wonder of ZooLights. Sensory bags will also be available for checkout in the main plaza. Adding more stripes to the Zoo! ?? We are excited to announce the arrival of Najuma, a four-year-old Grevy's zebra! Najuma comes to us from the San Diego Zoo Safari Park and is here via a Species Survival Plan breeding recommendation to pair with our stallion, Tuari. She will join the other female, Masika in their habitat. As Najuma adjusts to her new surroundings, we cannot guarantee that she will be visible until she settles into a routine.

Got a termite problem? Call Ernie and Beaker! Today is World Anteater Day and these boys were spoiled with Winnie the Pooh-themed behavioral enrichment loaded with yogurt and avocado ?? Ernie, a tamandua, is also known as a lesser anteater because his species is much smaller than a giant anteater. Giant anteaters like Beaker can reach up to eight feet in length, including their nose and tail!

We have some exciting news!! The Phoenix Zoo is excited to announce the addition of three male meerkats, Plymouth, Stabler and Joseph! The boys were raised at Capron Park Zoo in Attleboro, Massachusetts, and arrived at their new home on Predator Passage earlier this week. They are adjusting to their new surroundings, but have had tons of fun exploring their tunnel system!
