In business, in sales, and in what I’ve learned about entrepreneurism — momentum is everything.
When you slow down, relax, or take your foot off the accelerator even for a short period of time, the length of time it takes to “catch back up” is exponentially longer than it would have taken if you just keep the pedal down.
Those who view the grinders, workaholics, or people who don’t know what it means to really unplug, might not be programmed this way.
That’s fine.
I’m not suggesting it’s a better way to “entrepreneur” but it’s the only way some of us know.
As I’m building out the Executive Search arm of my business while doing everything possible to not lose any bit of our core h business, I’m reminded just how tough it is to build from the ground up.
Fear, exhaustion, feeling inadequate, wondering “why am I doing this?” and questioning every move — all of it is coming back to me.
Why is it that sometimes having faith in others is easier than having faith in the one person you know better than anyone ?!
Surrounding yourself with people who boost your confidence, for me, is one of the keys. Sure, having people challenge you is always a good thing, but temper that feedback. Some entrepreneurs tend to struggle with imposter syndrome, find people who can balance their feedback versus only reinforcing your negative self talk.
