The Phoenix is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to foster a supportive, physically active community for individuals who are recovering from a substance use disorder and for those who choose to live sober. By participating in our physical, social and educational programs, participants build confidence, self-respect, and community. Activities offered include CrossFit, climbing, hiking, boxing, running, yoga, road & mountain biking, and strength training. Through traditional fundraising strategies and revenue-generating ventures, Phoenix is able to provide free programs for anyone with 48 hours of sobriety.

Meet Aaron Gorder! From leading and supporting hikes, indoor rock climbing, and arts & craft, Aaron has been an outstanding?volunteer?in Boise, Idaho. Aaron's weekly hikes have been a huge hit with the community and he has impacted 216 team members directly since joining The Phoenix as a?volunteer?in March. We're thrilled that Aaron has recently completed his Wilderness First Responder certification and is ready to utilize his new skills in service of the community. Aaron says: "These experiences have given me a greater sense of purpose and fulfillment, reminding me of the importance of community support in healing and thriving.
