This semester, the Phoenix College Paralegal Studies Program celebrates its 50th anniversary. Founded in 1974 and ABA-approved since 1989, it is the largest and longest continuously-operating paralegal program in Arizona. The program was created by the late Linda Edwards, who had the vision to see the potential for paralegals and the role Phoenix College could play. In the mid 1980's, Edlyn Soderman and the late Cecilia Esquer joined the faculty and helped shepherd the program through its initial ABA approval. Linda, Edlyn, and Cecilia hired me in 1996 and I've been honored to serve as the Program Director since 2000 alongside a legion of talented faculty. Thank you to the dozens of faculty and thousands of students that have made the Paralegal Program at Phoenix College the marque program that it is.
