This is Savannah Westfall, then and now. Born at 28 weeks gestation, she was once a patient in Phoenix Children’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) when we were located at the Good Samaritan Hospital. Now, she is the clinical supervisor overseeing care at our nationally-ranked Level IV NICU at our Thomas Campus. Savannah first came to work with us while earning her nursing degree. Experiencing our NICU from the other side was a full-circle moment for her. “The dedication and compassion the nurses had for their patients was inspiring, and I couldn’t wait to call myself one of them.” And so, she did — first as a bedside NICU nurse and now as a clinical leader.
