Single women made up 20% of total homebuyers between 2023 and 2024. That’s compared to just an 8% share for single men, according to a report from the National Association of REALTORS?.

Existing-home sales rose in February, as buyers slowly returned to the market to take advantage of more inventory and variety and despite elevated interest rates, the National Association of REALTORS? (NAR) said. Specifically, sales rose 4.2% from January to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4.26 million. Year over year, sales were down 1.2% from 4.33 million in February 2024. If you have a would-be seller close to getting ready to put their home on the market, now’s the time to prepare. Homes listed during the last two weeks of November in Phoenix sell for 1.4% more than at any other time of the year, and that equates to an extra $6,400 on a typical home, according to a new Zillow report.

Housing starts rebounded from their January drop with a strong upside surprise in February. Overall new-home construction, which includes single-family and multifamily units, jumped 11.2% from January to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1,563,000 units, the U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development said.
