In 1878, The Sunday Breakfast Association of Philadelphia was established. More than 250 men attended the first meeting, where coffee and rolls were served before church. In 2022, having expanded well beyond the initial purpose of serving breakfast to men on Sunday morning, we changed our name to Philly House to better represent the broad spectrum of ways we serve the community. Today, we are the city’s largest and longest-running shelter, providing a safe, clean refuge off the streets with the goal of long-term impact. ???? #PhillyHouseFriday https://ow.ly/9JoP50Vjbuh

Meet Carversville Farm Foundation: where high-quality, 100% organic goodness meets a heart for the community! ????? While they could cater to five-star restaurants, their mission is far greater– providing fresh, nutritious food for Philly's homeless. Since 2023, they've partnered with us to deliver hundreds of pounds of perfectly planned produce and meats weekly. Thank you for helping us serve up meals that nourish and delight our guests! https://ow.ly/98JM50VcMnN

Exciting times at Capitol Hill- Our Philly House staff joined Citygate Network in D.C. to discuss the “Charity Giving Act". This amazing initiative will allow non-itemizers to deduct charitable contributions starting in 2023 or 2024. With bipartisan support from both the Senate and House, we can't wait to see how this benefits our generous donors!

“Being vulnerable enough to sit and eat with the men at Philly House opened my eyes and transformed my heart for the real people experiencing homelessness. That drives me to invite others into that same experience to mobilize together toward life transformation in our city." - Jaqi Todd, Philly House Volunteer and Community Relations Manager At Philly House, we’re motivated by our Christian faith to demonstrate love, compassion, and dignity to people experiencing homelessness in Philadelphia.
