In 1878, The Sunday Breakfast Association of Philadelphia was established. More than 250 men attended the first meeting, where coffee and rolls were served before church. In 2022, having expanded well beyond the initial purpose of serving breakfast to men on Sunday morning, we changed our name to Philly House to better represent the broad spectrum of ways we serve the community. Exciting times at Capitol Hill- Our Philly House staff joined Citygate Network in D.C. to discuss the “Charity Giving Act". This amazing initiative will allow non-itemizers to deduct charitable contributions starting in 2023 or 2024. With bipartisan support from both the Senate and House, we can't wait to see how this benefits our generous donors!
