#Hiring Design Intern, London Phillips is seeking an organized and motivated individual to fill a fixed-term 7-month Internship in the Design department. This role will begin this March and end in November 2025. Based in our London Headquarters at Mayfair, Berkeley Square, the primary focus of the internship will be to support the Design department with their upcoming auctions and to gain an insight into the day-to-day operations of a successful international auction house. The internship would be particularly suitable for applicants interested in Design. Phillips' Design department offers 20th and 21st-century design examples, including functional furniture and conceptual works. Our expertise includes European Modernism and Art Deco, French, Italian and Nordic Design, International and American Aesthetic Movement and Arts and Crafts, American Modernism and Studio Craft, contemporary design, architecture, glass and ceramics. Join us in celebrating the extraordinary legacy of Lucie Rie. This past December, we had the great pleasure of holding the first US auction dedicated to Rie’s pottery, achieving more than $3 million. Today, we take a moment to honor her ceramic dexterity and experimental approach with glazes and bold colors. Minimal design, such as fine lines and spirals, were no easy feat, yet she mastered the ability thanks to her extensive technical training. Rie transformed the beauty of modern tableware with her pure aesthetic. Happy birthday to the iconic potter!

On 26 March, fourteen avid runners from Phillips will be taking part in “Chase The Moon,” an organized and timed race in Battersea Park. The participants from Phillips chose to raise funds for Art History Link Up ahead of this event. Since 2016, Art History Link-Up has been providing opportunities for young people in state supported education to study art history without charge in their free time.
