The Philadelphia STEM Ecosystem is a network of collaborators that are actively engaged in local STEM Education efforts. It encompasses the rich environment of STEM programming, education, and opportunities throughout the Greater Philadelphia area. Our goal is to promote just and equitable access to STEM opportunities for children and youth. Our work is possible by the support of its backbone organization, the Philadelphia Education Fund and through our strong diverse membership, robust workgroups, a dedicated Steering Committee and the Philadelphia STEM Equity Collective initiative.

Have you heard of Eunice Newton Foote? Chances are probably not, but her research was critical in advancing climate science. Her experiments with gases, water vapor, and sunlight foreshadowed the Greenhouse Effect and paved the way for more advanced experimentation. She was also a women's rights activist with ties to Seneca Falls just down the road from Syracuse! Pictured are Eunice and a scan of her paper "Circumstances affecting the heat of the Sun's rays " from the American Journal of Science (1857). #WomensHistoryMonth #climatescience
