Welcome to the Equal Justice Center! We’re excited to officially introduce the Equal Justice Center (EJC), an initiative of the Philadelphia Bar Foundation dedicated to expanding access to civil legal services in Philadelphia. The EJC is designed to connect communities with the legal help they need by fostering collaboration between legal service providers, human service organizations, and community partners. By strengthening these connections, we aim to make civil legal aid more accessible and effective for those who need it most. Why does this matter? Legal challenges, whether in housing, employment, family law, or public benefits, shouldn’t stand in the way of stability and opportunity. The EJC is working to make sure people find the right help at the right time. How can you be part of this? Follow us for updates on our work. Engage with us: comment, share, and spread the word. We'd like to welcome Zhao Li, Esq. of Archer & Greiner, P.C. as our 2025 Board Observer! At Archer & Greiner, Zhao assists clients in a variety of corporate matters, including entity formation and dissolution, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and financing and commercial transactions. Counseling both large and small businesses on issues which arise in their daily operations, Zhao also helps clients in the preparation, review and negotiation of contracts, including corporate governance documents, such as bylaws, operating agreements, shareholder agreements and resolutions/consents, as well as the preparation of master services agreements and non-disclosure agreements, among others. In addition, Zhao assists clients in various business transactions, including asset purchases, stock purchases, membership interest purchases, joint ventures, and business dissolutions. Zhao has an extensive legal education and practice background in both China and America. She was previously an associate at a top law firm in Beijing, China, where she handled IPOs, private equity financing, mergers and acquisitions, general corporate, and regulatory and compliance matters. She also spent time in a boutique immigration firm in Philadelphia, where she focused on business immigration. Philadelphia Bar Foundation's Board Observer Program: This program provides young lawyers with the opportunity to volunteer and serve as an Observer on a nonprofit board of directors. Board Observers learn about local legal services organizations and other nonprofits, gain leadership skills, and strengthen their professional networks in ways that help them succeed in their future careers.
