As Chief Operating Officer, Lara has spent almost three decades shaping one of the NBA’s most storied franchises – The Philadelphia 76ers. She plays a pivotal role in business operations, communications, content and community engagement, bridging the gap between the organization and the city of Philadelphia, which it represents. Lara's impact extends beyond the playing court—she was instrumental in developing the Penn Medicine Philadelphia 76ers Training Complex, serving in leadership roles at The Sixers Youth Foundation, and leading strategic operations across Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment (HBSE), which includes New Jersey Devils, Prudential Center, Delaware Blue Coats, Washington Commanders and more! “I always live by an open-door policy, both in personal & professional settings. That’s for all employees within the HBSE family as well as any requests that come from outside of the organization. People did that for me when I was on my professional journey, so that’s something I want to offer others. My goal is to help others flourish in their own careers and one day surpass what I’m doing now!” When we talk about inspiration, we think of Lara’s history-making appointment in 1998 as one of the first female Vice Presidents in the NBA, paving the way for women in sports leadership. She is also incredibly proud of a more recent accolade; she was recently recognized as an honoree at the Police Athletic League (PAL) Awards Gala, recognized for her significant impact on youth programs! Her journey—from a student-athlete at Colorado State University for the women’s basketball team to one of the most respected executives in professional sports—is nothing short of inspiring. On February 27, the 76ers hosted their seventh annual Sixers Youth Foundation Gala, celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Sixers Youth Foundation. Proceeds from this year's Sixers Youth Foundation Gala are approaching $2 million to benefit local youth. Coach Nurse, the 76ers team, and alumni, including Allen Iverson, were all at the event and rallied with 1,400 attendees to raise money for the youth of Philadelphia. What a special moment for the Faulkner Family!? ? Last night, during our Military Salute of the Game, presented by Toyota North America, we had the honor of hosting the family of?Lieutenant?Omari Faulkner. They were there to accept an award on behalf of their father for his 10 years of service with the United States Navy and his recent one-year deployment in Bahrain, Asia. ? In the surprise of a lifetime,?Lieutenant?Faulkner came out to the court and reunited with his wife and four daughters.? ? Her work goes beyond creating and implementing policies - it’s about cultivating a culture where people can truly thrive. With a background that spans McCormick & Company, Walmart, and Comcast, Robin has spent her career building people-first strategies that not only elevate individuals but also strengthen organizations. Throughout her journey, she’s had the privilege of serving in leadership roles across multiple industries, focusing on developing diverse teams and driving community engagement. Robin’s journey is rooted in a commitment to volunteerism and mentorship, values instilled in her by parents. She still carries these values forward today through her active roles in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, the Big Brothers Big Sisters 2.0 program, and the Wilt Chamberlain Memorial Scholarship Fund. This week we celebrated the life and legacy of the late Dikembe Mutombo. ???? His family was in attendance at the game vs. the Boston Celtics and rang the bell as we highlighted his time as a 76er and celebrated his impact off the court as a humanitarian and global ambassador. Today, the Mutombo family stopped by practice for a visit with the 76ers. The 76ers gifted the Mutombo family with a custom painting of Dikembe Mutombo from artist Tiff Urquhart.
