Since 2017, PHI has supported the CDC Global Health mission by providing an entry level fellowship program with placements in over 28 CDC Country Offices overseas and various CDC Global Health programs in the USA. PHI has worked in partnership with CDC Host Offices, CDC Country Offices, and CDC Mentors to provide support for over 200 Fellows to gain experience in fields of Epidemiology, Surveillance, Program Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Strategic Information, and Global Health Security.?Fellows provided vital support to the CDC global response to the COVID-19 pandemic and have received training to enhance their skills, serving them well in their future as global health professionals. It is with sadness that the PHI/CDC Global Health Fellowship Program has come to a close, but we are proud of the work of the PHI team, the Fellows and the Mentors in whom supported advancing the CDC Global Health mission. PHI/CDC Global Health Fellowship Program, implemented by the Public Health Institute, is a U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention-funded program that offers recent global public health graduates from Council on Education in Public Health accredited schools and programs the exciting opportunity to participate in yearlong fellowships with guidance from leading global health experts from the CDC. PHI/CDC Fellows are placed in Atlanta and in CDC offices abroad where they will work on the front lines of global health while developing the technical and professional skills needed to make meaningful contributions to today’s global health challenges.
