Happy #InternationalWomensDay! To serve and celebrate the women in our community, our #PheplePeople came together to donate to the YWCA's Just for You Box service project. Each team put together a box of personal and self care items that will be donated to a local women's shelter. So often, women put the needs of their families ahead of their own, and this is something that they will have "just for" themselves. Great food and great company made for a fun and relaxing evening, as we took an opportunity to appreciate all of the hard work and dedication that our team brings to our credit union each and every day. ?? Celebrating #RandomActsofKindnessWeek with the Pheple FCU Community Relations Team! ?? This week, our team had the opportunity to spread kindness throughout our community. We started by volunteering at Ligonier Fox's Pizza Den. Operated by Heroes Never Alone, the pizza shop supports local veterans. From making pizzas, to building boxes, to treating folks to lunch, it was a great day! Next, we visited Captain Fitzgerald at the Westmoreland Park Police Department, and then headed to the Jeannette Police Department, bringing them some well-deserved treats as a token of our appreciation for their service and dedication to keeping our community safe. As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting our seniors, we participated in the Adopt a Senior program, delivering essential food items from the Westmoreland Food Bank. It's crucial to ensure that everyone in our community feels cared for and supported, especially our elderly neighbors. To cap off our week of kindness, we visited Aldi and had the privilege of brightening shoppers' days by surprising them and paying for their groceries. At Pheple FCU,we are #PeopleHElpingpeoPLE, and this week reaffirmed why that mission is at the heart of everything we do. Last Wednesday, we had the pleasure of hosting a Financial Reality Fair at McKeesport Area High School! Students stepped into the shoes of adults by choosing a career and making real-world decisions to build their monthly budgets. Would they live solo or with roommates? What type of transportation would they need? From insurance to entertainment, and even deciding if they could afford a pet, they navigated it all! At the end of the day, students met with a financial counselor to see if their budgets balanced. If not, they could explore our part-time job table or revisit their choices to cut costs and get back on track. A huge thank you to everyone who made this event possible! We’re grateful to the McKeesport administrators, teachers, and staff, along with our amazing credit union team and community partners—Norwin Chamber of Commerce, Steel Strong Community FCU, Dollar Bank, CFS Bank, Norwin Teachers Federal Credit Union, Clearview FCU, Duncan Financial Group, and Turtle Creek Valley Rotary Club.
