Work is on-going at Blair Academy, where we are constructing a 24,000 square foot, 3-story facility that will soon become their new Center for Health and Well-Being! The steel is erected and slabs are poured, exterior framing is nearing completion with insulation and sheathing installations in progress. The slate & EPDM roofing systems have started as well! We are so proud of the collaborative efforts that brought the Kindle Education Public Charter School project to life! Nothing compares to the joy we see from the students enjoying this finished space.
This fall, we moved into our new home at 35 Journal Square Plaza in Jersey City—the long-term home for our middle school and a space designed for our educational model. At Kindle, we believe that learning should be student-driven, inquiry-oriented, and deeply collaborative—and our new facility brings that vision to life. Every corner of this space was designed with purpose, flexibility, and community in mind, creating an environment where students can explore, create, and grow together. We’re incredibly grateful to KSS Architects for bringing our vision to life and to Phelps Construction Group for making it a reality. This design-build project transformed the former Grammy Museum Experience space into the modern, Jersey inspired, Prudential Lounge. The premium experience includes buffet-style food service stations and a full-service bar, including a private function room with state-of-the-art AV and sound systems. The project also included the construction of a new 2,000 Square Foot commercial kitchen.
KSS Architects, Phelps Construction Group, and HBSE Ventures partnered together to transform this space within the Prudential Center into a premium VIP club. Embracing the street-front location, the design seamlessly blends exterior and interior, connecting the sports and entertainment arena to the city. Thoughtful material selections create a cohesive and engaging atmosphere, drawing inspiration from Mulberry Commons and Newark’s industrial heritage.
