They brought together panels on Innovation Beyond Earth, Bio-Tech Investment, Regulatory Pathways and more with panels filled to the brim with impressive thought-leaders like Chris Garabedian, Charleson Bell, Colleen McLeod Garner- MBA, EMGM, Heath Mills, Richard Lawson and so many more. The team even gave me the opportunity to pitch alongside founders dedicated to improving human health both on Earth and in space. Including Naira Baregamian, Esra Roan, PhD, James Valencia, and Rachael Sparks to name just a few. I can't wait to be there again next year! “Frontiers.” Six months ago, Kavya Sharman wrote this on a big whiteboard at Vanderbilt’s Launch space. This February, the #Frontiers2025 Summit brought together hundreds of people across the biotech ecosystem. What stood out? Incredible speakers and a more intimate environment designed for genuine connections – a rare combo in industry conferences. It was inspiring to see the Phase Capital team, Kavya, James White, Monique Bennett, and Kristen F. Johns bring this vision to life. I got an opportunity to engage #healthcare entrepreneurs, innovators and investors at Frontiers 2025, with key discussions at the intersection of #biotech, healthcare, and #AI on earth and in space. Healthcare remains a global need which requires #innovation, #funding, multiple stakeholders and a clear understanding of the market, in order to truly bridge gaps in healthcare access and treat/prevent some of the world’s deadliest diseases. It was lovely to listen to the pitches of healthcare founders while interacting with other attendees like Jolie Grace Wareham. I got to chat with one of the judges, Chris Garabedian. ?? Authentic Community Building (Life Science Edition) ?? I recently had the opportunity to speak on the roadmaps of success at Nashville's Frontier Summit hosted by Phase Capital alongside Shaherah Yancy and Jim Ingram! Across all industries, I have seen similar patterns of the overwhelming nature of stakeholder management. Anyone leading an initiative needs a lot of support, and in highly technical industries, you need very specialized support. When you are just getting started, it's hard to know who to trust and how to feel authentic when building a psychologically safe community, rather than feeling like the relationships are transactional. I have noticed that if you are a good person with a clear and vetted vision for a solution, others will gravitate to support you—but it takes time to build trust! The two fundamentals I rely on are the scientific method and the growth mindset. If everything is an experiment with a hypothesis and conclusion - you are never a failure. In science, even a failed hypothesis can lead to very valuable information. If you combine this with a growth mindset that you can improve over time, you become unstoppable! I believe happiness is derived from a sense of belonging in a community and being able to add value to that community. My personal direction is to focus on how I can help as many people as I can in my life with the limited resources that I have. Maintaining positivity and motivation in difficult times is not easy, but doing what is right is often not. It was great to see the Chicago community show up for Nashville, with quite a few familiar faces in attendance! Kavya Sharman, James White, and Elena Solopova have been supporters of Chicago by hosting a biotech breakfast in conjunction with 2Flo Ventures Health Equity Investing Symposium and Chicago Biomedical Consortium's Biocapital Summit. Chicago has some of the best authentic communities in the country, if not the world. It's great to see something similar being built in Nashville. A big reason why I am passionate about 2Flo Ventures is that we try our best to support life science founders by helping provide the trusted capital and community to advance life-changing technologies!
