Grateful for an incredibly busy month filled with exciting opportunities and meaningful connections. A huge thank-you to the team at SoftWriters for the chance to collaborate on their podcast series, and to PRS Pharmacy Services for inviting me to join them at the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) (NCPA) Conference in Columbus, OH. And of course, I always feel fortunate to serve as a +1 at Sara Hussey, MBA, CAE’s events for the Allegheny County Medical Society. Watching my wife excel as the leader of that organization is inspiring—plus, I get to build amazing connections along the way. This time of year, giving back is more important than ever. My work as Chair of the Allegheny County Immunization Coalition has been especially fulfilling. Earlier this month, we hosted a fantastic conference with over 100 attendees, and just last weekend, our volunteers participated in the Thanksgiving Distribution event at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. I left that event feeling so energized and grateful. Now, I’m rounding out the month in the best way possible, by spending Thanksgiving with my family in one of our favorite places—Ellicottville, NY. As I write this, the snow is falling, and there’s a good chance we’ll actually get snowed in for the holiday. Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! I’m looking forward to a busy December and heading into 2025 with big plans on the horizon. Thank you to everyone who has supported me over the past few months—I truly appreciate it.

Big step forward today for Pennsylvania’s long-term care providers! Testimony is being given in support of HB 2320, which addresses those frustrating Medicaid application delays. This could mean quicker reimbursements and much-needed relief for providers across the state. In my work with long-term care, I see how these delays don’t just affect care facilities—they hit pharmacies hard too. Pharmacies are often left footing the bill while providing essential meds to patients waiting on approval, which can cause cash flow issues. If you’ve ever negotiated a contract with a skilled nursing facility, you know there’s often a specific clause about how these pending Medicaid patients will be handled. HB 2320 could make a difference in speeding up payments across the board.
