As Black History Month comes to a close, it calls us to reflect. But more importantly, it calls us to act. It’s a reminder that when it comes to equity in healthcare, addressing disparities in patient experiences isn’t just about acknowledging history—it’s about shaping the future. The patient experience is not one-size-fits-all. Our latest research shows significant disparities in how different communities experience healthcare—Black patients, for example, report lower ratings on empathy and teamwork. Women are often underdiagnosed with heart disease, while low-income and rural communities face significant barriers to preventive care, routine check-ups, and mental health services. These gaps are real, and patient experiences and outcomes still vary widely by demographics. Closing them requires a deeper understanding of patient needs, informed by data. Our blog explores how healthcare organizations can identify and address these gaps, ensuring every patient receives the care, dignity, and respect they deserve. Because equity isn’t an initiative—it’s a responsibility. Read more in this latest blog from Deirdre Mylod, PhD, our SVP of Research of Research and Analytics: https://lnkd.in/gadahE_D
