Since joining Petra as a Project Engineer in 2023, Steven has been an integral part of our team, contributing to projects such as Boise Gateway Industrial Park – Building 3, U-Haul Moving & Storage of South Meridian, U-Haul Moving & Storage of Hill Field, and now U-Haul Moving & Storage of Caldwell. In his new role, he?will assist with the daily management, coordination, and successful completion of projects, continuing to uphold the standards of excellence we value at Petra.

Construction update…our TownePlace Suites in Nampa, ID had its sample room review with Marriott yesterday. The hotel is coming along and we look forward to achieving our key milestones over the next four months with a spring opening! It is our pleasure to introduce the newly completed U-Haul Moving & Storage of South Meridian. This facility includes a three-story building with 117,115 square feet of climate-controlled storage, providing 1,070 units, along with a 15,312 square foot U-Box warehouse. Additionally, six single-story buildings offer 108 drive-up units. Conveniently located near Idaho’s busiest interstate and just minutes from Downtown Meridian, this facility is well-positioned to serve the storage and moving needs of the rapidly growing area. This project marks U-Haul's first U-Box warehouse in Meridian, giving customers flexible moving and storage options. U-Haul introduced U-Boxes, portable moving and storage containers, in 2011. These containers measure 8' x 5' x 7', hold up to one ton, and can be shipped door-to-door to nearly any location worldwide, providing a convenient solution for both short- and long-term storage needs. The U-Box warehouse at this facility is a 117’ x 131’ pre-engineered metal building with a 50’-8” ceiling, capable of holding up to 1,000 U-Boxes stacked five high within a secure, climate-controlled environment. It also features a radiant heat slab under the two-bay roll-up door loading dock, ensuring smooth operations even in Idaho’s winter conditions. The building’s exterior design integrates brick veneer, dust panels, and single-skin metal panels, accentuated with decorative fins in Aquarium Blue, Nurture Green, and Obstinate Orange. These elements enhance the facility’s visual appeal, align with U-Haul’s branding, and add to the modern aesthetic of the Treasure Valley. Petra’s Concrete division was responsible for all structural and site concrete pours on this project. Petra is proud to support U Haul’s continued expansion across the Western United States as a trusted partner. We take great pleasure in announcing Karen Farmer is assuming the role of Senior Office Administrator. In her new role, Karen will provide administrative support across all departments and offices within Petra, playing a critical part in the success of our teams. As the 'central spoke' of the team, she will collaborate with and assist all members, championing our processes and standards while skillfully managing any necessary deviations. Karen’s deep knowledge of project finances will also enable her to support Project Managers with timely and accurate information.

Congratulations to the Siemens Energy Team in Redmond, Washington, for successfully completing the Tenant Improvement project! We marked the occasion with a team lunch to celebrate.

Lorri Mills joins Petra as a Talent Acquisition Manager in Idaho, bringing over 26 years of HR experience in tech, energy, finance, healthcare, manufacturing, and public works. Originally from Lewiston, Idaho, Lorri was raised in Portland, Oregon, and relocated to Middleton, Idaho, in May 2023 with her husband to be closer to her son. They also have a daughter in Seattle, a Doberman named Bouch, and a Tuxedo cat named Maisie. In her free time, Lorri enjoys camping, biking, hiking, and traveling to sunny destinations. She’s an amateur bird watcher and often goes wine tasting on the Sunnyslope Wine Trail. In her new role, Lorri will develop and implement a Talent Acquisition Program, supporting recruitment, candidate experience, learning and development, and HRIS/database management.
