Peter Zimmerman Architects is seeking a Staff Architect with 3 + years of residential architecture experience. Strong attention to detail, positive work ethic and willingness to learn, are musts. A strong proficiency in Auto Cad, Sketchup + Experience composing complete sets of construction drawings mandatory. Architectural Licensure is not a requirement however a candidate should ultimately be working toward the goal. Residence within commuting distance to our Main Line location is preferred. Peter Zimmerman Architects is a premier firm specializing in luxury residential design. Our expansive portfolio of private residences have received local and national accolades and recognition. Peter Zimmerman Architects was founded in 1982 as a full service residential design firm located on Philadelphia’s Main Line. Our firm’s extensive portfolio is composed of award winning private residences, barns, guest houses, pool houses, equestrian centers and private wineries. Peter Zimmerman Architects’ design philosophy is deeply rooted in the historic traditions of architecture: classical proportion and scale, the balance of shadow and light, and the importance of the sustainable relationship between materials. We strive to design spaces that create a sense of transparency between the interior and exterior environments. All of our designs focus on the seamless integration between the built and natural environment, while remaining faithful to historic roots and responding sensitively to the surrounding cultural context. The unique natural features of each property greatly influence our design response. Architecture needs to respond to the individual characteristics of the site and the client’s personalized requirements in order to create spaces that engage and enrich their lives. The largest gesture down to the smallest element in our designs becomes an expression of the balance and harmony between the compression and expansion of space, the interplay of light and shadow and the rules of scale and proportion. Our design process is the expression of the dialog between client and architect; a willingness to explore possibilities with the realization that there is never a single answer or solution. Rather, there is the elegant solution, the one that delights and satisfies. Bucolic Bucks County + Pennsylvania... Views of rolling hills and woodlands from every which way, a more than perfect reason to fall in love with the land. Our site plan was inclusive of a main house, garage and caretaker's suite, a natatorium, and separate pool house. The efficacy of a geothermal system, vital in offering high energy efficiency. All designed with specific attention to sun angles, with intimate consideration that our design was inclusive to open windows and doors throughout the changing seasons.
