We love senior dogs and so does The Grey Muzzle Organization, which recently granted $15,000 to Pet Community Center to provide preventive care for senior dogs! Accessible preventive care is essential to helping dogs live longer and healthier lives. So far this year we have served 800 senior dogs, and with this grant, we will serve many more.

关于我们
We want to end pet homelessness and we believe it can be done. Keeping pets in their loving homes is the key to our success. Pet Community Center (PCC) operates a high-volume, low-cost spay/neuter and vaccine clinic in East Nashville run by highly skilled veterinarians, clinicians, and nonprofit professionals. In partnership with Metro Animal Care and Control and local rescue groups, PCC has been pivotal in the decline of the euthanasia rate in Davidson County, which has dropped from 80% in 2011 to less than 10% in 2020. Additionally, PCC is tackling barriers to veterinary care and provides outreach and support to pet owners who live in veterinary care deserts through the Pets for Life program. The results of PCC’s work include lower pet homelessness rates, lower shelter euthanasia rates, and improved public health and quality of life in neighborhoods across Davidson County.

Happy National Mutt Day! Did you know that 80% of all dogs in shelters/rescues are mixed-breed? They're often overlooked for purebred dogs, but mixed-breed dogs deserve loving homes and happy lives too. If you're considering adding a canine friend to your family, consider adopting a mixed-breed dog from your local shelter/rescue!

Happy two-year work-iversary to our Food Security and Facilities Manager, Chris! Over the past two years, Chris has built our Food Security Program from the ground up and delivered nearly 70,000 lbs of pet food to over 3,700 clients. We are not only grateful for his impact on our community but also on our team. With his quiet sense of humor and gentle leadership, Chris makes every team member feel valued and appreciated.

Each year, more dogs go missing on the Fourth of July than any other day of the year. Keep your dog safe, inside, and as stress-free as possible today by following the tips below. Additionally, we recommend keeping up-to-date tags on your dog at all times in case they get lost. (Bonus points if they are microchipped!)

Happy July! Last month, we spayed/neutered 480 animals, including 163 community cats, 193 indoor cats, and 124 dogs. We also provided core wellness services to 573 animals through our financially friendly vaccine clinic. Additionally, we covered $11,503 in medical costs to make our veterinary care services even more accessible for pet owners and community cat caretakers. We couldn't do it without our generous community's support! To help us provide accessible veterinary care, please visit petcommunitycenter.org and donate.

Happy first work-iversary to our Client Services Associate, Will! We are so grateful for the joy and compassion Will brings to PCC every day. Nearly every week we see a client review about how Will made their experience at our clinic a positive one. Thank you for making our organization a brighter place, Will!

Welcoming a new puppy or kitten into your family is a joyful, yet often overwhelming experience. That's why we love helping pet owners like David navigate the veterinary needs of their new family member. Through our Pets for Life Program, we have provided David's new puppy, Ivrene, with her first vaccination, dewormer, and flea/tick prevention at no cost to David. "I'm grateful for how PCC helps the community," David says. Learn more about Pets for Life and how you can support the program at https://lnkd.in/dzuW-txv.

Four-year-old Norfolk Terrier, Roscoe, is one of the nearly 2,000 pets we have spayed/neutered and vaccinated at no cost to their families through our Pets for Life Program. Our Pets for Life program serves families like Roscoe's living in the areas of Nashville with some of the lowest income levels and the least accessible veterinary care, pet supplies, and other resources (zip codes 37207, 37208, 37218). You can learn more about the program and how you can support our efforts to make veterinary care accessible to all at https://lnkd.in/dzuW-txv.
