Inspiring the Next Generation of Aviation Leaders. ?? Perth Airport was proud to host Year 8-10 students from Darling Range Sports College and Lesmurdie Senior High School as part of Cool Aeronautics, the STEM outreach program of the Royal Aeronautical Society to celebrate International Women’s Day. This marks the third year we have hosted the Girls Engineering the Skies – Airport Experience Day. Through interactive activities and behind-the-scenes experiences, students explored the exciting world of aviation, engineering, and space. It’s inspiring to see schools returning each year, reinforcing the impact of these programs in shaping future careers. Who knows? Another record-breaking year! Perth Airport has delivered a bumper year for aviation, with a record 16.9 million passengers passing through our terminals in 2024. With 1.6 million more passengers choosing Perth Airport compared to 2023, we’ve easily surpassed the previous record of 15.3 million, achieving a 14% increase on pre-COVID numbers. With passenger numbers surging, we’re working hard to deliver additional capacity and drive further growth in aviation. Our multi-billion-dollar investment program is underway and will deliver a new runway, new terminal facilities, two multi-storey carparks, major road upgrades, and our first hotel. This will boost Perth Airport’s capacity and efficiency, creating even more opportunities for aviation, tourism, hospitality, the resources sector, and strengthening international business and education links. We're thrilled to hear that Jetstar Airways will increase its domestic capacity into Perth between February and June 2025 ??? More than 6000 new seats will be added, primarily focused on the Adelaide and Melbourne routes, providing more opportunities for Western Australians to travel for business or pleasure.
