    Hierarchal Organization Communication Problems ? The structure of communicating up and down the pyramid is not just rooted in power and control; it is designed to maintain the status quo. This design excludes many voices and hinders transparency ? Each level in the hierarchy is filtering the intended communication, which could include adding or detracting to a message based on personal preference, job security, or even fear ? Spamming personnel with emails is not communicating; it is blasting information and lacks strategic intent ? The feedback loop is non-existent, as personnel at lower levels may be too afraid to communicate valuable information to leaders ? Functional information silos may operate in isolation and hinders subject matter experts' ability to collaborate openly, and diminishes outside-the-box thinking ?? ??
