Jasmine Julie Maldonado founded the carefully curated boutique, Persona the Shop, in 2020. Persona the Shop dwells in the heart of Mid-City LA next to her mother’s restaurant, Mariscos Maria’s, that is now the longest running Latino-owned business in the West Adams district. Her mother, Maria Cuevas, was a single, immigrant mother of seven who started her business as a seafood truck and has since expanded into two brick and mortar locations. Jasmine’s mission is to continue her mother’s legacy and inspire other Latinas to celebrate their cultura and uplift their comunidad. Jasmine also co-founded Mid-City Mercado, a monthly pop-up that hosts 30+ diverse businesses in the parking lot located between her shop and her mother's restaurant.
