Houston-based Persona AI has raised over $10M in pre-seed funding to develop AI-powered humanoid robots for manufacturers and businesses. Founded by Nic Radford, Jerry Pratt, and Jide Akinyode, the startup aims to address the labor shortage in manufacturing with rugged, five-foot-eight robots designed to handle tough tasks like order fulfillment and machine operations. Operating on a robotics-as-a-service model, Persona AI expects to deliver its first robots in 18-24 months. Radford highlights Houston's strategic advantage for customers, despite limited local investment participation so far. Global interest in AI and humanoid robots is booming, with analysts predicting a $7 trillion market by 2050.
