PCEDA was established in 1973. The Authority is a quasi-public entity whose 21 member Board of Directors is appointed by the County Commissioners; however it has no political affiliation. The mission of PCEDA is as follows: “Acting as a steward, the Authority will facilitate economic development that preserves and enhances the quality of life for Perry County.” PCEDA is actively pursuing an asset based economic development plan which focuses on promoting the existing assets of Perry County such as Cultural, Historical Recreational and Agricultural initiatives. This institution is an equal opportunity provider. Board meetings are typically held the second Thursday of the month at 8 a.m. at the Perry Business and Tourism Center in New Bloomfield. If the schedule is to change, a notice will be published in advance in the local newspapers. Board meetings are public and open to all.

Our facade grant program’s goal is to improve the appearance of businesses in Perry County, PA. Paragon Tax Group needed a few updates for their facade. They had their painted areas power washed, then given a fresh coat of primer and paint (areas such as the trim, around the windows, the porch and lattice work). They also requested some other maintenance repairs, such as fixing their front steps. After having so much participation, we are excited for the next round of facade grants to open again. We had many participants throughout the county in our first round of facade grants. We are featuring another great success: Jackson Assets LLC is fixing up their building and requested a roof be built over the length of the front of the building. This covers all three doors from the elements and just ties the whole building together. Follow us to know when we open the program again.
