Restoration of Legacy Mining District & Domestic Production of Gold & critical mineral Antimony! (Formerly Midas Gold)
关于我们
Perpetua Resources, through its wholly-owned subsidiaries, is focused on the exploration, site restoration, and redevelopment of gold-antimony-silver deposits in the Stibnite-Yellow Pine district of central Idaho that are encompassed by the Stibnite Gold Project. The Project is one of the highest-grade, open-pit gold deposits in the United States and is designed to apply a modern, responsible mining approach to restore an abandoned mine site and produce both gold and the only mined source of antimony in the United States. Antimony is a federally designated critical mineral for its use in the national defense, aerospace, and technology sectors. In addition to the company’s commitments to transparency, accountability, environmental stewardship, safety, and community engagement, Perpetua Resources adopted formal ESG commitments which can be found here.

New from Financial Times: One of the only mines to get permitted recently was Perpetua Resources’s Stibnite mine in Idaho, which will produce gold as well as #antimony, a metal essential for defence and used in alloys and semiconductors. When #China, which controls most of the world’s antimony processing, placed curbs on exports last year, it sent alarm bells ringing in Washington. “The government has realised that we have offshored so much manufacturing . . . There is recognition that we need to reinvest in mining in the United States,” said Jon Cherry, chief executive of Perpetua. Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/gyJUrrgp

The United States faces a growing national security risk due to its dependence on foreign-controlled antimony supplies, a critical material for munitions, energy storage, and defense applications. Controlling?an astounding 87% of global supply, China and Russia are tightening their grip on the global antimony market—exacerbated by export bans and geopolitical tensions—the U.S. must take decisive action to secure its own supply. Perpetua Resources' Stibnite Gold Project presents a historic opportunity to change this trajectory. The U.S. Forest Service’s recent approval of Perpetua’s federal permit in January during the final days of the Biden Administration marks a pivotal step toward reestablishing domestic antimony production. Once operational, the Stibnite Project alone could supplement the U.S. Department of Defense’s annual antimony demand. As Western nations replenish munitions stockpiles depleted by the Ukraine conflict, antimony prices have surged nearly fourfold, exposing the dangers of supply chain vulnerabilities. With global production failing to meet demand, the U.S. cannot afford to delay. Responsible domestic mining—led by projects like Stibnite—is the key to securing our national defense, economic resilience, and long-term strategic independence. The Stibnite Gold Project sits on an abandoned mine site where more than 10 million tons of tailings & waste rock sit unconstrained. Our Project is designed to clean up & reprocess these materials to improve water quality & leave a lasting benefit. #RestoreTheSite
