The Perot Museum announced an exciting partnership yesterday with Mexico City's MIDE, Interactive Museum of Economics (MIDE) to present Soccer: More Than a Game, a one-of-a-kind exhibition running from March to September 2026. Coinciding with the FIFA World Cup 2026 matches in Dallas, the exhibition will explore the science, technology, culture, and economics of soccer. "By creating this soccer exhibit in Dallas, we're not only preparing for the excitement of the biggest sporting event in the world coming to Dallas, but we're also demonstrating how science and sport connects all of us, regardless of nationality," said Dr. Linda Abraham Silver. This international collaboration was unveiled at a special luncheon co-hosted by the Consul General of Mexico in Dallas, Francisco de la Torre. The event featured an exclusive first look at the exhibition and remarks from Dan Hunt, President of FC Dallas, who highlighted the city's deep-rooted connection to the sport. MIDE will present a parallel exhibition in Mexico City, another North American host city for the FIFA World Cup 2026, featuring shared themes and concepts. "Soccer is?a powerful cultural bridge that unites nations. This exhibition explores the economics, science, and cultural impact of the world's most popular sport, and we're thrilled to share it with Dallas as part of this meaningful international collaboration," said Silvia Singer, General Director of Museo Interactivo de Economía.? Stay tuned for more details in the coming months. Get ready, Dallas—this will be an unforgettable experience!?

ANNOUNCEMENT This week the Perot Museum of Nature and Science announced a major transformation of the Moody Family Children’s Museum coming May 2025. Enhancing one of our most treasured spaces for families and children, the reimagined Children’s Museum will incorporate the latest in early-educational research and feature interactive exhibitions and experiences to foster creativity, curiosity, and critical thinking in children while empowering young minds to reimagine the future. The new hall will nearly double in size, growing from 6,259 square feet to nearly 11,000 square feet, to include an expanded Toddler Area, a Makery where our youngest visitors will tinker and engineer, an immersive Imaginarium experience, and a larger Outdoor Area with climbing and water features. The expansion bolsters the Museum’s position as the preeminent children’s museum of the region, extending programming to serve children up to age 7, offering an enriching experience from toddlers to early elementary students. The world-class concept incorporates state-of-the-art technology and international design principles to enhance STEM learning, connecting children to the wonders of science and discovery through learn-by-play. The current Children’s Museum will close for renovations in early January 2025. During the closure, popular activities from the existing Children’s Museum will be available for visitors on the Museum’s Lower Level beginning in mid-January 2025.
