  • If you have a well on ESP producing at 500 BFPD and you need to convert form of lift, at what GLR do you decide to convert to Gas Lift vs Rod Pump? Sure, it depends on many factors, but great discussions popped up last week during our "Permian Well Performance and Artificial Lift Strategies" meeting with Novi Labs. Ted Cross gave us some insight on the future of GLRs and WCs throughout the Delaware and Midland basins, and some of the trends we saw were pretty surprising. We had operators in the room that gas lift all their wells, given their existing infrastructure. Others claimed to be able to rod pump high GLRs successfully with high efficiencies. While there were some disagreement on the limits of various artificial lift types, we all agreed that strategies certainly depend on company economics. Seeing GLR, fluid rate, and water cut trends throughout the basin helped everyone and our service partners alike, identify where there may be future opportunities across the basin. More on Artificial Lift Strategies later... If you missed the presentation, you can find it here: https://lnkd.in/eVcxhYkP A big thank you to Ted Cross and Novi Labs for offering their insight and helping us drive better decisions for the future of Artificial Lift. • ???? Calling all Production enthusiasts! Time to dive into the highlights from our latest SPE Production Study Group (PSG) Forum! ???? We had a fantastic turnout with 52 attendees, including notable operators and dedicated service partners. A huge round of applause to everyone for making it a stellar event! ???? Now, let's give a well-deserved nod to Branden P., one of our go-to experts in production engineering. His deep dive into Single Point High Pressure Gas Lift applications for the Permian Basin left us all buzzing with insights! ???? Here's a snapshot of the key takeaways: 1?? Let's start with the basics of production engineering! Branden emphasized the importance of understanding nodal analysis, inflow performance relationships, and VLP curves to effectively apply various artificial lift techniques. As he aptly put it, "Know what's working for you, and what's working against you." ???? 2?? Let's talk ESPs. While they shine in certain areas like initial production rates and frac hit recovery, they have their limitations, particularly with solids handling and increasing GORs over time. Enter HPGL to bridge the gap! ???? 3?? Brace yourselves for some exciting future applications! Branden hinted at HPGL's potential role in reducing flaring and increasing hydrocarbon recovery. It's a game-changer in the making! ???? A big thank you to everyone who contributed to the discussion! Your expertise fuels our collective progress in pushing the boundaries of technology and artificial lift. Let's keep the momentum going and continue pushing the boundaries of innovation together! ???? #WeLiftThePermian #ProductionEngineering #Permian #permianbasin Ritthy Son, P.E.
