As summer comes to a close, we want to extend a huge thank you to our incredible cohort of interns for their hard work and dedication over the past few months. This summer, our interns had the opportunity to shadow experienced project managers, attend onsite meetings, and observe the building process firsthand. They gained valuable insights into estimating, project management, safety protocols, and business development, while also participating in formal training sessions that expanded their skills and knowledge. We’re proud of the contributions they’ve made and excited to see what the future holds for each of them! Interested in learning more about our internship program and how to join next summer? A huge congratulations to the whole STRAiGHTAWAY Cocktails team on being named one of Portland Business Journal's Makers and Manufacturers winners! An amazing crew to work with and true innovators. Way to go, team!
Hello cocktail enthusiasts! Live from the Straightaway breaking news desk, a share-worthy headline. Straightaway has just been recognized as one of the top 14 Maker and Manufacturers in the state by the Portland Business Journal. Huge thanks to The PBJ team and to Perlo Construction for the nomination. We are proud to be recognized with other stellar Oregon makers Bob's Red Mill, Smith Teamaker, Dehen 1920, Hot Mama's Salsa and the other honorees for 2024. To be joining past honorees such as Intel Corporation, fellow B Corp maker Tillamook County Creamery Association, and Nike is pretty wild stuff for a little maker brand in industrial SE Portland. A massive shout out to our production team who meticulously labor over each and every ingredient we source and create, and putting those ingredients to their highest uses in our products. It is particularly rewarding to be recognized as a vertical maker in our category. It's a category dominated by large scale outsourced flavor-house generated replicant ingredients, and co-packed production. Not exactly how great bars make their masterpieces. It is a core belief for Straightaway, that cocktails are high art and deserve the time, craft, and attention to get them right. This can definitely take us into some Portlandia ingredient and production moments. Fir needles picked by my pops from our childhood home in the Cascades, and filberts grown and roasted for us by Freddy Guys Farm, all to make the bitters for our Oregon Old Fashioned? You bet! Fresh pressed juice from our 3rd generation citrus farm partners in California? 100%! Sea Salt from Netarts Bay via our friends at Jacobsen Salt Co. for our Margarita and other cocktails? But of course! Stumptown Coffee Roasters Cold Brew coffee with Willamette Valley Meadow Foam honey from our friends at the Oregon Bee Project for our coffee liqueur and nitro espresso martini? Check and check! The finest Bai Mu Dan white tea available from Smith Teamaker? Wouldn't dream of using anything else! Marion berries, from our buddies at Bauman's Farm in Gervais, for our membership Marion berry Whiskey Sour? Oh yeah, and trust me you want to taste that one. Catch you all for a cocktail, and an upcoming BIG update, soon! Cy

We can't wait to see more!? Check out the progress in the pictures below! Learn more about our other projects by visiting our website: https://lnkd.in/eTTGY63Q
