On Tuesday, Perkins Eastman celebrated the topping out ceremony of Forrestal Elementary School. Designed to foster a sense of #community and support student wellbeing, the light-filled elementary school prioritizes literacy, #wellness, and #sustainability to deliver a premier learning environment for North Chicago-area military and non-military families. “Forrestal Elementary School has built a culture of improving outcomes for both students and staff,” says Josh Bergman, senior associate at Perkins Eastman and project manager for Forrestal. “With the last steel beam in place, the school is one step closer to having a building that reflects this mission with a healthier, more inspiring, and restorative place to learn that is also easier and less expensive to operate.” “It’s an exciting day,” says Cara Kranz, principal at Forrestal Elementary. “[The students] saw where it will be in the building. This makes it real for them. The steel really makes a difference when they see the steelworkers up high putting it in.” The school is expected to open for the 2026-2027 school year. Alexandria City High School at Minnie Howard has been recognized with a 2025 Green GOOD DESIGN Award from The Chicago Athenaeum Museum for Architecture and Design. The prestigious awards program represents the world’s most important manufacturers and design firms that are paving the way for #sustainable design and #healthy environments worldwide. The reimagined Minnie Howard campus of the Alexandria City High School realizes Alexandria City Public Schools’ vision of equity and a dramatically enhanced student experience across its Connected High School Network, which offers a wide variety of programming for the city’s nearly 5,000 high school students. The Minnie Howard building—an adjunct to the high school’s main King Street Campus down the street—provides new high-performance learning environments for 1,600 students from across the network as they flow between the campuses throughout the school day, enabling #ACHS to give all of them access to Minnie Howard’s innovative programs, curricula, and activities. Cello Tower “represents a new caliber of living in Las Vegas” and “stands as a beacon of modern luxury,” says ArchDaily, and we couldn’t agree more. Designed by Perkins Eastman, with interiors by One Line Design Studio and landscape by Floor Associates, the 32-floor residential tower is the tallest of its kind outside of the Strip. The tower also serves as the anchor of Origin at Symphony Park, also designed by Perkins Eastman, playing a vital role in the site’s environmental comfort. Each of the 240 #luxury condo residences and eight stunning penthouses blends refined interiors with floor-to-ceiling windows that frame views of the #LasVegas skyline and mountains with balconies on each window that give the resident a choice in the type of connection they want to have with their surroundings. Through a reductive design language, the architecture creates a gesturing statement toward the downtown Las Vegas core through a bold, tapering form and frames an urban layering of green spaces. More than 40,000 sf of gathering and amenity spaces across three floors, from the ground-level lobby to an expansive indoor/outdoor amenity deck, activate Symphony Park as well, making for a one-of-a-kind destination in downtown Las Vegas. Livelle Mulholland, a wellness-focused and climate-responsive life plan community in Woodland Hill, CA, designed by Perkins Eastman, has received Honorable Mention in Environments for Aging’s 29th annual #EFADesignShowcase. Offering nearly 19 acres of luxury living for #olderadults, the campus, a former organic fruit and vegetable farm, sets a new standard for vibrant living and features a design that prioritizes its natural surroundings; the buildings are interconnected via gardens, lawns, and vineyard walking trails, and the exterior incorporates a rich palette of porcelain tiles and warm, wood-like elements. With #independentliving apartments, villas, assisted living, and #memorycare rooms, accompanied by comprehensive indoor and outdoor amenity programs, our design team’s overarching goal for Livelle Mulholland was to facilitate aging-in-place and create an environment where residents can thrive.
