Biketober is almost over! Have you gone for a spin yet? Here's our top 5 safety tips for biking on and off the road: 1. Choose a safe route! If you're not used to road biking, start on a multi-use trail or path away from the road. 2. Use your lane. When in a bike lane or sharing the road, hugging the curb will invite others to pass you. Keep 1-3 feet between you and the side of the road. 3. Signal first. Before turning left or right, point your arm out the way you're turning to let others know. 4. Keep it on lock. Bring a bike lock on your ride and lock it to a rack when you arrive! 5. Ride with confidence. Don't worry about holding up traffic--your best bet is to stay visible and stay safe.
