On World Diabetes Day, we’re shedding light on a critical but often overlooked aspect of diabetes care — the risks associated with peripheral artery disease (PAD) and diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs). Early detection is essential as people with diabetes are more than twice as likely to develop PAD [1] leading to severe complications if untreated. The FDA has cleared the use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) for 13 medical uses, including non-healing wounds, diabetic foot ulcers, burns, and compromised skin grafts.
