Meet Amy Jones, MD! Pictured here with five of her six children, Amy says the most interesting place she's been is probably her kids' playroom when they were little. ?? Though she hasn't traveled abroad yet, she grew up in Taylorsville, NC—a small rural town near the Blue Ridge Mountains, on a dairy farm. Reminiscing, Amy recalls, “I remember watching the milk trucks come to collect milk from our cows. My grandad would milk the cows by hand, and the milk would go into a big silver vat where it was cooked with a large paddle. I was just tall enough to stand on a cinder block and peer over the edge, watching the swirling milk as it cooled before the truck took it away.” What a beautiful memory! ???? #Welcome #PerhamHealth #NewProvider

Perham Living employees recently participated in a comprehensive dementia care education session led by Teepa Snow, a renowned dementia care specialist. The training focused on key areas essential for enhancing care for individuals living with dementia. ?? Employees were educated on strategies to reduce resistance to care and increase participation in daily routines. They also learned to distinguish between confusion and supported communication, address eating and nutritional issues related to dementia, and create moments of joy for residents. This invaluable training equips our employees with the knowledge and tools to better understand and support our residents with dementia, ensuring improved care and a higher quality of life. #PerhamLiving #Dementia #Education
