    It was a great week for Performio last week and I'd like to give a public thank you to the team. We got a great score in the Forrester Wave report on incentive comp, and it wouldn’t have happened without them. Performio has the strongest offering of the “Strong Performers.” Getting there was a team effort, but I wanted to call out a few folks for leading the charge: Thanks to Kathryn Osborne, Ambikaprasad Khatri, Adam Gregory, George Daouros, Zandra R. and Balakrishna Badiginjala, who lead our customer success, professional services, and support teams. Performio was 1 of only 3 ICM vendors who got a halo for great customer feedback. An interviewee in the report is even quoted saying, “It’s like Performio is one of our employees”—and they’re talking about our CS, PS, and support folks. Bravo. And of the 3 halo-winners, Performio was given the highest marks in strength of offering—and that’s thanks to the leadership of Dmitri Korablev, Chloe Bloem, Miles Jordan, Laura Cardinal and Vidyadharan E V on the product front. We got a specific shout-out for how well our automated workflows enable admins to operationalize processes—a testament to the hard work and innovation that have gone into this over the past year. I’m grateful I get to work with such talented people on such a useful product. Thanks to those I mentioned and of course the rest of our team as well, I’m proud to work with you all.     I recently wrote a letter to Performio customers highlighting a challenge in the incentive compensation management (ICM) category: software companies focusing on broader SPM capabilities (e.g. sales planning) instead of mastering the core functions that businesses need in ICM software. Specifically, I said ICM vendors need to nail: 1. Ease of use 2. Handling complexity 3. Self-service (including managing data) Fast-forward two months: The Forrester Wave?: Sales Performance Management Solutions For Incentive Compensation 2025 dropped today, and the summary includes this line: “The most valuable capabilities of SPM/ICM solutions now are their core ones, such as ease of use, ability to handle complex calculations, and data transformation.” It’s great to see the analyst community validating what we’ve always believed here at Performio.     I don't normally share my thoughts here, but new year - new me. I’ve been thinking about where Performio and the rest of the incentive compensation management (ICM) industry are heading this year, and it’s going to get interesting. ICM vendors have solved the easy problems in automating & managing incentive comp — but the difficult ones remain. The question is what the industry will do next. And that’s where Performio and the rest of the ICM players seem to be diverging. There seem to be two main schools of thought: 1. Give up on the building the ICM product the world has been waiting for and move onto other sales-related capabilities 2. Double-down on solving the hard problems that remain (and that every customer still has) Guess which road we’re taking.
