We had the honor of hosting students and faculty from the UNT College of Merchandising, Hospitality and Tourism's Dallas Study Tour class today in our Frisco office. We had a great lineup of speakers from within our brands, to share their experiences and knowledge with the students, and hopefully help them gain some insight into what it's like working in the Marketing space within the beauty industry. We are so excited to welcome Lydia Quinn to our international team as our new International Account Coordinator. Lydia has around 15 years of experience in the beauty industry, from retail to salon/spa therapist, field sales representative and more recently category executive working with a number of brands in accessories and skincare categories. She is very passionate about the industry and loves everything beauty.?She also has experience in working with a number of established brands as well as assisted with launches of new and upcoming brands.? ? Most recently in her career, she was working for FFD International, who is a leading distributor of international health and beauty brands into the UK retail market. Here she started as an e-commerce account executive and then Category executive. We are thrilled to welcome Phil Pflaum to the team as our Cost Accountant for our manufacturing team, based out of Texas. Phil's career includes twenty years in the beauty and skin care manufacturing industry primarily in cost and inventory accounting. During his career he has always enjoyed new innovation / training and participating in the product launch to market. He plans to bring his skills and experiences to PBG to better assist and accurately analyze and report on the costs of products and inventory. Phil met just a few on the PBG team prior to starting, and he was so impressed with their attention to detail and professionalism. He is looking forward to working with the PBG team. We are so excited to welcome Chelsea Shields, PhD to the PBG team as our new Sr. Director of Consumer Research & Insights. Dr. Chelsea Shields has?dual-PhD's from Boston University in biological and cultural anthropology where she was classically trained in qualitative and field research methodologies. She?uses this background to help brands better understand their consumers, by getting into the actual closets, cabinets, and make-up bags of customers. Her enduring philosophy is to "always ask the end-customer" from discovery research to strategic decision support to concept validation testing, repeated customer insight is the most important part of any new product launch, campaign, or brand shift. Shields has worked as a professor of anthropology at Boston University, Towson University, and Utah Valley University. She has also worked as a consumer research?expert for large design and strategy agencies in LA, NY, and SLC. Since 2015, Dr. Shields has run her own qualitative research and performance branding?company, called Brandhthropologie Agency. Dr. Shields is a TED Fellow, 4x TED Speaker, and TED speaking coach and enjoys teaching leaders how to curate their non-verbal body-language and micro-signals to their advantage. She was most recently Global President of Beauty Pie and prior to that, she spent 8 years on the leadership team at Ipsy, helping to propel the beauty membership to 3Mn subscribers and $1Bn in revenue. Sabeen was drawn to PBG’s entrepreneurial, agile and people-first culture and the opportunity to scale the platform through strong customer listening, rapid innovation, and forward-thinking transformation. We are thrilled to welcome Tyson Black to the PBG team as a full-time Amazon Specialist. Tyson initially joined the team as an intern in May 2023, and did such an amazing job that we brought him on full-time upon graduation. Prior to joining the PBG team, Tyson worked in sales for Stukent, which is an educational software development company.?He recently graduated from Brigham Young University-Idaho with his bachelor’s in marketing. Tyson loves his role at PBG as he enjoys getting to see how much money is circulating through the Amazon platform, since the goal is to bring in as much money as possible for the brands.
