For so many healthcare organizations, disjointed scheduling is still a fact of life. ?? At the recent Lightning Bolt User Summit, Nadia Alamo—a project manager for the UNC School of Medicine's Department of Psychiatry—laid out many of the challenges her group faced. To start, they had 200+ providers with 25 attending schedules and 25 people managing those schedules in 25 different ways. On any given day, there were multiple versions of the schedule floating around simultaneously, and good luck figuring out which was the most current. Even simple tasks like shift swaps took 15 minutes, as they required the change to be manually duplicated across each version of the schedule. To say the least, this scheduling process wasn't conducive to efficient, stress-free daily operations. With Lightning Bolt, they've got the rules in place to consistently build the best schedules, and admins are empowered to make decisions about local schedules to prevent bottlenecks.
