Sourcing high-quality, organic ingredients has been a core value of ours since Perfect Snacks was founded almost 20 years ago. This year, we’re proud to say that 96% of the ingredients we’ve purchased are certified USDA organic. By providing certified organic products, we’re guaranteeing that our products are traced and verified organic from farm to store. Organic foods follow strict federal guidelines and contain reduced synthetic pesticides and fertilizers, no antibiotics or synthetic growth hormones, and no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives. We believe in sourcing organic ingredients that allow animals to thrive by ensuring farmers follow federal animal welfare requirements. We take pride in sourcing organic non-fat dry milk and whole egg powders that contribute to the whole food protein content in our products. Organic farming ensures that animals are raised in conditions that mimic their natural environment, with access to outdoors and pastures, and safe, cage-free living conditions. Animals must be fed 100% organic feed and are not given antibiotics or synthetic growth hormones.? The regenerative impacts of organic agriculture also offer a variety of environmental benefits when compared to conventional agriculture. From building healthy soils and increased biodiversity to a lower carbon footprint and cleaner air and waterways, organic practices support abundant live both below and above ground.?? Today, on National Honeybee Day, we’re celebrating the wonder that honeybees contribute to our world and our uniquely crafted products. Did you know that 1/3 of the world’s food production depends on bees?! We recognize the value that organic farming contributes to honeybees and other native bee species. Through practices like crop rotation, using cover crops and the reduction of pesticide use, organic farmers directly help protect honeybee colonies, while also creating a safer, biodiverse, and more resilient ecosystem. Most of the organic honey in the U.S. comes from smallholder/family farms in the Brazilian rainforests where bees collect nectar and pollen mostly from wild plants. In 2024, we’re pacing to purchase almost 5MM lbs of organic honey which is used as the main sweetener source in all of our products! Not only does it contribute to the incredible taste of our protein snacks, honey also acts as a natural ingredient binder so when combined with refrigeration, there is no need for preservatives or emulsifiers in our formulas.
