This week, we had the honor to meet with delegates representing the Tokyo Environmental Public Service Corporation, to share our insights and experiences on how r.World | Reuse introduced and launched reuse at scale in the US, to help inform and further their work in Japan. As part of their educational day with Reuse Seattle, they received a special behind-the-scenes look at r.World | Reuse's Seattle-based Wash Hub. They learned about our infrastructure?supporting citywide reuse, our innovative approaches to advance reuse, and the importance of world-class sanitization and QA practices. We shared the lessons we’ve learned over the past decade, and how we rely on environmental integrity as our North Star. This was followed by a reuse tour at Seattle’s iconic SIFF Cinema Downtown. Following the journey of a reusable, we explored onboarding and training of the team at SIFF, plus reviewed ordering, delivery, setup, storage, and strategies to achieve the highest return rate possible. The tour concluded with a screening of our reuse trailer that plays before each showing, starring team members from SIFF and Reuse Seattle. Digital signs and big screen moments are a great way to show the audience how reuse works and the important role they play by returning reusables. Thank you to the Tokyo team for your enthusiasm, curiosity, and dedication to taking these key learnings back to Japan. And, a BIG shout out to the City of Seattle, Reuse Seattle, our partners at SIFF and our Seattle team, for rolling out the red carpet. Together, we’re one step closer to fostering a global culture of reuse and sustainability. A better future is in your hands!
