As Ray Yoes says, “Give them their roses.” This October, we honored: Josh Diaz, our incredible Director of Content Production ("let's try it!"), celebrating 9 years with us Bruce Blauberg, Senior Social Creative (and wizard) with 10 years Denise Corazza, Director of Exec. Operations (not sure where we’d be without you) – 14 years Another 14-year milestone: Jewel Sing, a critical member of our finance team (the wind beneath my budgeting wings) I just celebrated my own 10-year anniversary too, which means that this January I’ll be switching on my do-not-disturb and taking my sabbatical. If these seem like crazy-long tenures, they are, and it’s deeply unique to Pereira O'Dell. We’re an indie agency with 17 years under our belt, which means we have the freedom AND wisdom to build the type of agency we’ve always wanted to work at. Real growth happens when you invest in both the people and the business.?It’s not just about chasing the next big opportunity (though we love that part, too). It's about creating a place where people want to stay and build their careers. A place where you can do incredible work and live an incredible life. Lest you think this is puffery (PUFFERY on LinkedIn?!), a quick “just the facts, ma’am” moment: - The industry average for employee tenure is 2 years. Ours is 6. - Our employee turnover dropped from 16% in 2022 to just 1% this year. - 91% of employees anonymously reported that they feel ‘their well-being is genuinely cared for’ (a 10% increase from the previous year), and 87% noted ‘greater transparency from leadership’ (up 7%). We join the global creative community in mourning the loss of #WashingtonOlivetto, a true pioneer who transformed the advertising industry . His influence goes beyond advertising—it touched our culture, our ambitions, and our vision of what's possible. As PJ Pereira, our cofounder and creative chairman and a first generation Brazilian immigrant himself, said: "[All Brazilian creatives] are grieving, even those who never met him in person. In one way or another, every Brazilian in advertising today was heavily influenced by Washington's genius." Washington’s work was more than just award-winning campaigns; it became part of Brazilian popular culture. His storytelling and passion inspired an entire generation, including many of us here at Pereira O'Dell. "Any one of us—especially the ones who dared to build an international career—owe our ambitions to him." Today, we celebrate his incredible legacy and continue to draw inspiration from the bold creativity he embodied. Rest in peace, Washington. Your spirit will live on through the ideas and ambitions you sparked in all of us. Thank you Alison Weissbrot for your tribute to his legacy in ADWEEK.

What a way to end the week! PJ Pereira joined an impactful panel hosted by the Ad Council to address gun violence as a public health crisis. Alongside industry leaders from The Washington Post, Northwell Health, The Joyce Foundation, and Brady: United Against Gun Violence, they discussed how cross-sector partnerships are driving real change in shifting attitudes and behaviors around this critical issue.
