In honor of Women's History Month and International Women's Day, the Percent Pledge team hosted a Community Volunteer Event supporting women in STEM! We were joined by 200 volunteers from 80 different companies, along with three incredible guest speakers. Dr. Sonia Sethi (Sonia Sethi, MD, MBE), an endocrinology physician and bioethicist, shared insights on gender equity in healthcare, while Dr. Caitlin Potter and Dr. Elena West introduced their conservation research on woodpecker habitats that our volunteers made over 800 classifications for, advancing their scientific research! This week we brought the Percent Pledge community together for our Black History Month Community Volunteer Event! In partnership with?Defy Ventures, over 100 volunteers from 60+ companies?reviewed resumes?for justice-impacted entrepreneurs, providing them with the tools they need for a fresh start. Beyond general feedback and resume tips, volunteers helped to build confidence and encourage the entrepreneurs as they embark on their career journeys.
