On Tuesday, April 30th at 9 am, eight students from #Manual High School's Manufacturing and Welding program began their careers by signing letters of intent with Caterpillar Inc.. Five students signed full-time contracts to work in production logistics and machinery, while three students embarked on internships in engineering and supply logistics. It was a wonderful opportunity for the community to show support and recognition for these talented students as they started their journey into the workforce.

Congratulations to Reservoir Gifted Academy on the official opening of Outdoor Classroom! This project became a reality thanks to several efforts, including a Help-A-Thon fundraiser last fall, a fundraising campaign by an alumnus in honor of a retired teacher, and additional contributions from current and former Reservoir Gifted Academy families.

At last night's Board Meeting, we recognized our Those Who Excel winners! Megan Nugen of Valeska Hinton Early Childhood Education Center won Educational Service Personnel of the Year, and Elizabeth Krause of Hines Primary was the runner-up. The Illinois State Board of Education sponsors the Those Who Excel program to honor educators who have made significant contributions to primary and secondary schools.
